Parents & Babies

COMING IN 2026

IMG_0003.jpg

In 2026 we are looking to expand our offer for little ones to include groups for under-twos and their parents and caregivers. We have seen the value that music can have for young children. Even if they are not yet old enough to hold an instrument, there is something about live music that seems to captivate them!

These sessions will be specially designed with classic child-friendly music that adults can also enjoy, plenty of safe and engaging musical instruments for little ones to play with and specialised teaching so that the grown-ups can go away with basic guitar or ukulele skills to keep working on at home.

We are currently in the set-up phase of this project so no time or place has been confirmed. This is your opportunity to get in on the early stages of logistics and have your say on what would work for you! We are keen to provide something that will work for local families so please register your interest below if this is something you would like to be a part of. There is no obligation to attend - this just helps us choose an appropriate space and time.

FAQs

Q. How much will it cost?

A. We are aiming to deliver these sessions at £8 per family per 1 hour session. This will cover the costs involved in renting the space and maintaining the instruments and the time it takes to plan and deliver the sessions. We may be able to offer discounts for those wishing to pay  for multiple sessions in advance.

Q. Who delivers the sessions?

A. Plucky Goat is run by Patrick, a qualified and experienced primary school teacher and professional musician. Charlie is also assisting with children's groups and she is a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant with lots of experience in nurseries (including under 3s) and primary schools. We both have Paediatric First Aid qualifications, regularly updated safeguarding training and clear DBS certificates (police checks) dated within the last 3 years as per industry standard.

Q. Will I need to bring my own instrument?

A. We have a large collection of kids percussion instruments for the little ones that we keep clean and check regularly for damage to make sure they are safe to use.

For grown-ups, we do have a limited number of ukuleles available to borrow if you are just starting out. If you would like to learn guitar, you would need to bring your own as these are more difficult for us to transport and store.

Q. What kinds of instruments will they play?

A. We have xylophones, shakers and drums for the little ones.

We will never bring any instruments with small parts like monkey drums to these sessions (you may see photos of these on our website from other sessions for older children).

Q. Is there an age limit?

A. There is no strict age limit on any of our sessions, though we would advise that these sessions are best suited to children below school age, which is why we are running them during the week.
