Saturdays are the day our students of all ages come together to learn new skills and jam. From September, our groups will be taking place at the Creative Corner, Goyt Mill, Marple. Our groups have evolved over time, led by the interests and needs of our community. We hope that our group content will continue to grow and change with our students.
Groups are not strictly age or ability limited - get in touch and we will let you know which groups might suit you best.
We use a WhatsApp channel to keep you updated each week where you can confirm your attendance in advance with one tap. Our channel keeps your phone number private so that younger students can see updates too.

Our Groups
10:30am - 11:00am
Pygmy Goats
Age: Approx KS1 (Ages 5-6)
A music group for new musicians. These sessions have a mixture of formal skill learning and more relaxed games and exploration in a small group, so everyone will get plenty of time on their favourite instrument. New members will catch up quickly so don't hesitate to enquire even if your child doesn't play an instrument yet.
1:30pm - 2:15pm
Band Skills
Age: Approx KS3 (Ages 11-15)
A low-pressure but structured and adult-led jam session for secondary school aged musicians of all abilities who would like to play songs together but aren't sure where to start. We aim to encourage collaboration and creativity and give the musicians opportunities to learn from each other. This is a new session for the academic year 2027.

Kids Songbook
Age: Approx KS2 (Ages 7-11)
The Kids Songbook group is for children who have been playing an instrument for a little while and would like to practice songs with others and learn new skills and explore new types of music. The group works together to arrange pieces for performance and we introduce new instruments regularly and encourage multi-instrumentalism.
2:30pm - 3:30pm
Adults Songbook
Age: 16+
The adults songbook group is for new and intermediate musicians who would like to play with others in a non-judgemental environment. We started out primarily as a ukulele group but have now expanded into a range of instruments. Younger musicians can join this group on a case-by-case basis, and children of members are always welcome.
12:30pm - 1:00pm
Early Music
Age: Approx EYFS (Ages 3-5)
The Early Music group are just starting their musical journey with us! They are building basic skills and exploring different instruments through storytelling and games and lots of time to try things out. We teach rhythm, pitch and listening skills and follow the children's' curiosity where we can to encourage a love of music.
Monthly - from 6pm
Jam Circle
18+
This session runs on the first Saturday of every month and is for more experienced musicians who can follow charts confidently. All instruments (including vocals) are welcome and you are encouraged to bring a piece you would like to play and be willing to direct others. Places must be booked in advance in our WhatsApp channel.
We now run our Saturday groups on an Honest Contributions system. This means you pay what you can by cash or QR code anonymously, and the funds we raise through the 'Honesty Box' will be re-invested in new instruments and resources, as well as funding our bigger events. We find that this system always averages the right amount for us to keep Saturdays running, and gives people flexibility in how and when they pay.
Our suggested contributions below are a guide for those who prefer to know what to pay, but these amounts are not required. If you are struggling, please pay what you can afford. If you think our sessions are worth more, please drop in extra when you can! You might wish to pay less if your child does not stay for the full session, or doesn't want to participate when they are here.
